As a food blogger, I get interesting requests from time to time. The Nuvia Coffee folks asked if they could send me a box of their “Instant Healthy Coffee” to try and I said yes. They did not ask me to blog about it, but I offered to give them some feedback. First I checked out their blog which says the coffee contains 100% certified Organnic Ganoderma Extract, African Mango Seed Extract and Pomegranate Extract. I don’t know what all of these are, but the Nuvia folks also claim the coffee supports healthy energy and immune health and supresses appetite. Sounds good to me. Coffee is one of those foods that has gotten good and bad reports in medical tests over the past few decades which has left consumers confused. I’m certainly in the confused category. But if they can find a coffee that’s healthier, it sounds like a win.
Ironically, my son, Jake and his wife Becky, just happened to be in town for a day right after the coffee arrived and I twisted their arm into making a statement for the blog.

Jake said, “This coffee has a burned taste when you drink it black. I think it’s better with creamer.”
Becky said, “I really don’t ever drink instant coffee, so I’m not a great judge.”
My husband, Ken, is a big coffee drinker and he prefers dark roast and he said, “This is an instant coffee for someone who likes a dark roast. It’s good for instant coffee.”
As for me? Like Becky, I’m not a great judge of instant coffee but I thought it tasted OK with creamer.
